Today

Today, I made it to church for the 2nd week in a row.  I haven't done that in so long it's embarrassing.  I even went without Kent.  That is huge for me.  And I know how sad that is.  I am blessed to have a good friend and mother-in-law to help me out....seriously grateful.  I am hopeful that soon, when I leave church I will feel spiritually fed.  I don't know how to put it exactly, I don't want to come across judgmental, or I don't know, I just struggle sometimes.  Kent told me I need to read a talk about learning from an imperfect teacher or something like that.  For now I have decided to just focus on the obedience aspect of it all.  I am supposed to go to church, I am supposed to take my children to church, and I will.  I will be obedient.

Now that I have been there 2 weeks in a row I have officially worn all of the church clothes I have.  Looks like I need to do a little shopping this week.  I think I am excited about that.  I always am until I realize what size I have to buy.  And the way I think I look in the fun house mirrors they put in dressing rooms.  You would think stores would catch on, line your rooms with slenderizing mirrors and they would sell clothes faster than McDonalds sells fries.  Speaking of, fries sound killer right now....which you know, will totally help me fit into my perfect size....

Today after church, we went over to my moms.  Everybody was there, and despite the chaos, it was fun.  We haven't all been over there at the same time in forever.  I talk to Amy and Lisa a lot but I sometimes go a long time without talking to my brother.  I forget sometimes how much I like hanging out with him.

On the way home, I heard Colton say "Chicken Butt".  Then a second later, "Guess what chicken butt"  Aubrey was less than enthused, but it made me smile.  It is like a right of passage, one of those things all kids learn at school.  He said Zayne taught it to him.  My best friend all through grade school ALWAYS said that.  But of course, I had to remind him that we don't say butt, so he said 'chicken bum' and I had to tell him it just isn't funny that way...which inevitably means "Guess what chicken butt" will be saved for those moments I am not around.  And honestly, that is totally fine by me.

I am proud of myself these last few weeks.  I have been working hard to be a real mom and wife...aka, I get up in the morning and shower, cook dinner, do laundry, run the dishwasher everyday, have the whole downstairs cleaned up before bed, you know June Cleaver like.  And even though at the end of those 2 weeks I ended up crying on a little pink stool in the kitchen from exhaustion and hormones I'd like to think, it was totally worth it.  Kent helped cheer me up by ordering a bunch of food from Pizza Hut and watching Millionaire Matchmaker with me.  I am determined to keep going with my new schedule, and hope I will learn to love making dinner.  I really hate making dinner.  I am horrible at it.  Or maybe my kids will grow up looking forward to the nights we eat out or at a grandma's house...So, here is to another week of bedtimes, bath times, and laundry!

Cheesecake

I know I am getting a little carried away with the collage thing, but I totally dig it!  I can use so many more pictures that alone are completely lame, but together, not so much....

Last week I helped Aubs make a NO BAKE cheesecake.  It was perfect because she could do just about everything by herself.  Colton had been too busy pouting to help in the beginning.  Life is so depressing when a mom says no t.v., video games, and computer.  But before long he determined  he would rather make cheesecake with us, than do nothing.  I don't have a picture of the finished product with the yummy strawberry topping because I hurried up and spread it on just in time to send Kent a piece in his lunch.

You would think the crappy part of doing something like this would be, maybe, the mess, or the spilled milk, or the calories, but no, the thing that was so disappointing.....MY KIDS WON'T EAT IT!!  What is wrong with them!  I am half tempted to just shove it in their little faces!

(Aubrey looks like she is low on oxygen because she had eaten a blue popsicle prior to)

Anyway, here is the proof.....

Just thought I would throw this in, I would hate to leave her out....

Addison Recap

Seriously, my heart feels the heaviest for not documenting Addy's milestones. I love this stuff, first steps, first tooth, first words. I even insist that their 1st birthday be on that exact day. My sister thinks I am ridiculous, a bit over the top with this kinda stuff. So in an effort to redeem myself, I will attempt to give an overview of the last few months and the milestones that came with it....

Take 2-I just erased all of the things I typed up.  I want to scream and throw something, but the closest thing to me is Aubrey, and I'm thinking throwing her might not be the best way to handle this situation.  Here goes...

At 7 months she started to crawl, this is the earliest of all the kids, and I think she might be the fastest...at 8 months she started to pull herself up, at 9 months she started crawling up the stairs and finally cut her second tooth...at 10 months she is on her way to standing on her own, can climb the stairs(thank you baby gate makers), and has cut a few top teeth.  She is currently being medicated for ear infections and she takes her medicine like a pro...she eats everything and has finally mastered the art of drinking from a sippy.  She loves taking baths and splashing like a crazy person, much to the dismay of her sister...she ABHORS getting dressed and diaper changes...She loves when I lay on the floor and she can climb on my back...if Aubrey's hair is within reach she pulls it, and lets be honest with hair that big, it is almost always in reach....I put a  pony in her hair for the first time the other day, and it was so cute I laughed out loud....Naughty and Booski are some of her more popular nick names as well as Bells and Belly...One of her favorite places to be is the couch...She has her own room now....Bottom line, we all adore her, and give her more attention than one baby could ask for....She is truly a blessing and I love her more than words...

Picture Challenge

My sister is helping me on the road to become a better blogger. She suggested I post the 8th picture from my December folder, thanks for the idea....you should totally do the same...

So, this is the 8th picture in my December folder. I am happy to be posting it, and sad when I think back on all of the fun things I actually did with my kids for Christmas and blogged nothing about it.

This was one of our "Twelve Days of Christmas' activities. Making the gingerbread house at Christmas time is one of my favorite things to do with the kids. Last year we made the cutest house ever and before I could take a picture of it, our dog ate it. Here is the finished product...Not too shabby right...

I have been contemplating.
Contemplating my blog. Or lets be honest, that fact that it might as well not even exist. I have been wanting to post about a lot of things lately. Mostly, though, I just miss the journaling aspect of it all.
But I keep telling myself, how do I start? Where do I start? I have skipped Halloween, Christmas, Addy's important milestones. How do I just randomly say, I made bookshelves with rain gutters, oh and yes Addison started crawling three months ago, and Christmas was great, but seriously, I love my bookshelves. I feel like such a blog poser.
So, here is my goal. I will stop making excuses, the last six months will be blogged out of order of date and importance. I will try to reactivate my self as a blogger, and church goer while I am at it, and just start blogging again. A lot of what I will post will be totally unimportant, irrelevant, and most likely in no way entertaining. Because of course, some of it will just be about what I did or didn't do that day. But some posts will be oh so yummy with bits and pieces of my kids. The kids that make me feel blessed beyond belief all while counting down the minutes til bedtime. So here goes, I think I will kick off my new found sense of blogging with some thoughts and maybe, I will finally change my info on the side, the part that says I am a mother of 2 and a puppy, since I'm not really anymore.

When I was typing the longest explanation about nothing a minute ago, I totally thought of something I wanted to blog about, and now I cannot for the life of me remember what that was. Maybe it's a sign. Maybe I need a new blog layout and am completely overwhelmed by just the thought of it. I wish someone would just do it for me....and then maybe they would give me a million dollars....Ok, maybe I just shouldn't over do it. Until tomorrow. I am hoping I will blog a little about my kids.... Some pictures and such...maybe if I have the time, like if Addison takes a long nap, and Aubrey doesn't try to sit on my lap the whole time I am at the computer and Kent doesn't take the laptop, I will write the longest post EVER!! Maybe...
